Yin Yoga this Winter in Thornbury!

Consider gathering this winter of 2020 to nourish your kidneys, the keeper of Jing (natal essence) in this monthly focused practice. In the Daoist ways, the kidney/bladder organs and meridian pair are the spotlight structures in our physical body during wintertime. Too much stress depletes the kidneys fostering excess fear in our psyches (manifesting as anxiety, depression, restlessness are some symptoms) and continual muscular tension in our physical bodies. When we nourish the kidneys well, we feel steeped in wisdom and our ability to mature with grace blooms. We begin to develop a loving relationship with these magnificent organs – connected to all other organs via the connective tissue web – thereby coming to love our whole self. So, this winter, we will warm the kidneys (no, this is not Hot yoga! but there will be some gentle warming), move through the biotensegrity field of “expansion/contraction”, listen to poetry (yea!), draw divination cards and write from them  - a wee smorgasbord of gentle activity enveloped within an authentic yin practice.  This is yoga: the path to integration and peacefulness with all our parts made whole.
